Isolated rain chances returns Wednesday

Posted

Tonight, we’ll settle into a fairly peaceful evening with a few passing clouds and temperatures gradually dropping to the mid 60s as the polls close. By Wednesday morning, most neighborhoods around region should wake up to temperatures in the upper 40s to lower 50s.

Wednesday will still feel pretty nice, with afternoon temperatures climbing into the mid-70s. However, you’ll notice more clouds overhead as moisture begins working its way in. A weak cold front approaching from the west will help bring our next opportunity for rainfall. A few showers could develop late Wednesday evening, with additional pockets of rain possible overnight and into Thursday.

This isn’t shaping up to be the widespread soaking we really need. Our mountains have the best opportunity to pick up some decent rainfall. Meanwhile, Charlotte and communities farther east will likely receive less than a quarter of an inch. Some neighborhoods may see very little rain at all.

Thursday will feature more clouds than sunshine, with temperatures reaching the upper 60s to lower 70s. We’ll keep a few scattered showers in the forecast, especially during the first part of the day, before conditions gradually improve heading into the evening. Overnight temperatures should fall back into the upper 40s and lower 50s.

By Friday, we’ll be saying goodbye to the clouds and hello to some more beautiful November weather. Expect a return of sunshine with afternoon highs in the 70s.

Saturday and Sunday are looking fantastic for outdoor plans. We’ll enjoy a nice mix of sunshine and comfortable fall temperatures, with highs generally between 70 and 73 degrees. Mornings will be on the chilly side, with temperatures in the 40s, so you’ll definitely notice that fall feeling early in the day.
